I am like. salty to a legendary degree. taking advantage of my friends is UNACCEPTABLE even and especially when you only understand fragments of the abusive relationship this person just got out of. so. yeah. that.

really disappointing that neither Kickstarter nor Indiegogo seem to have any campaigns for technology related to community building… I mean there are projects for specific areas and I applaud that ofc but I’m thinking like…applying critical thinking and inventiveness to technological solutions…I’m not saying tech solves everything b/c it doesn’t (boy am I familiar with that), but it seems like someone somewhere could have made a new, like, way to shelter people? or a food distribution computer program? or a service to connect roommates to each other like they do in college? ugh come onnnnn I don’t have time to do everything myself :((

but they always say: if you want something done right………..

fucking hell, designers. this is not the first time I’ve walked 15 minutes to attend your meetings in person only to find you cancelled them hours ago.

someone was trying to argue with me the other day that people today are “better informed” and that the human race has only ever moved forward and I vehemently disagree with him.

he accused me of being pessimistic and said that “the moment you start questioning if we’re making forward progress is the moment we stop making forward progress” (which…no. that’s not how those things work)

but c’mon. better informed? yes I can get information immediately at my fingertips; however, the chance that it is incorrect information (as it has likely not been vetted by even an editor or agent) is SO MUCH HIGHER than if I went to the library and found a book on the same topic. I may have more information on more things, but it’s about people’s opinions, not facts, and when they’re facts they’re not VETTED facts, and I’m in a heavier state of confusion than I ever was (I can’t confidently pin this on the internet age entirely, because it could also be developmental though).

also, sure, it can be pessimistic to question whether we’ve made progress, but I prefer to see it this way: I am equipped with more or less the same innate tools, information resources, and ability to contact reliable human beings as every heroic person who has ever lived, if not more, so

um

I have no excuse.

ugghhhhh why would I go read comments on that Camp Gyno ad on Buzzfeed everything is terrible

my mother has decided that inviting people to my wedding is cool. let me break it down:

a) that is rude and inconsiderate. especially when NOT ONLY do you “invite” them, but what you mean by invite them is “I’m going to tell them that you’re NOT inviting them and then, when you relent and say they can come, lecture you for acting like a 14-year-old”

b) the more people who get added, the more complications they layer on to who ELSE I have to invite. immediate family is a very. easy. line to draw and it should not be that difficult to understand. when I start saying yes to this person or that person then anyone else at that level of closeness to me has to be under consideration or else THEY will feel left out. what the fuck?? why did this, today, become EXACTLY the thing I was escaping? FUCK.

c) NO.

step 1: choose a subject that offends you

step 2: rant endlessly and often about how bad it is to shame people (esp. who are/like/do/think X)

step 3: constantly shame the people who have offended you b/c they are subhuman, obvi

step 4: DING-NING-NING-NING YOU’VE WON THE INTERNET!!!

clarification #1: and to clarify this is not about people on my dash. if you’re on my dash it is 99% likely that you have done nothing to offend me in the recent past. this is mostly a General Internet Problem.

clarification #2: particularly of offense has been the Abercrombie & Fitch CEO debate. he said some really fucked up shit. doesn’t mean that calling him a freak or saying he’s ugly makes your argument any stronger.

clarification #3: the fact that I’m posting this and not just internalizing it and following my own advice really does mean I need to break from interwebz *headdesk*

I try to see the potential loss of or damage to our stuff in our own home as a sort of thriller movie side quest

like the protagonist who tries really super hard to keep the car from getting damaged throughout the fiery chase scenes because that one old guy will get PISSED if there’s even a scratch

or the main character who is haunted by mischievous ghosts who just wanna take her hairbrush

…it helps
