so tonight we raided the freezer and the fridge and Jake decided to rely on his specialty and whip up some charcuterie.

he started with a few veggies… onions, carrots, bok choy, bell pepper…

next it was time to put some veal and beef and oats and seasoning-type shit into the mixer and beat it to hell until it became a delicious meatveggieseasoningoats paste and he formed it into this lovely loafy:

next up: that bacon you can see lurking in the corner.

enlarged for bacon.

all set! into the oven with this bad boy

holy wow this is gonna be good – topped with a BBQ-Dijon-chipotle-fruitbeer glaze…….

but you just don’t know how beautiful these things are until they come out of the oven

LOOK AT THIS

yes it tasted as good as it looked

in a little while I’m going to post a readmore text post with beautiful pictures of this meatloaf Jake is making. fair warning if you don’t want to see pics of food or meat

but Jake made me amazing tacos and he was so cute making faces at me in the car when he and Six pulled up both lookin a lil scruffy and totally in love with me. so there’s that <33

I made it through three whole movies today and now I’m making pocket pizzas and drinking wine (at Jake’s behest, apparently there’s a chef code about not making Italian food without intoxication) and I’m all wired up and haven’t been outside much today and I don’t know, I’m in a weird mood. send strange msgs pls

also, Josh is borrowing our internet, and he just left to go get us cookies and ice cream. that kid.

Jake made a massive pot of chili for the week. I whipped up a bit of honey butter with sea salt and there’s cornbread in the oven. towards the end of the work day I got back into some template writing, a ridiculous exercise that combines writing, organizing, and logic in a super nerdgasm way, so that was nice. plus everyone who’s been whining is on break this week. it’s like the holidays only sunnier.

double date with Q and S, who are us from the other side of the world. glorious crab feast.
