Amy, this is for you and Rebekah, because I see your mom like your shit all the time, and like…it must be like watching the soap opera of her children unfold before her eyes. welcome to the future, everyone.

Actually, they do more than ear plugs, even when they’re not hooked into anything (if you get the good ones, anyway). Mine are an absolute god send.

that’s more along the lines of what I was thinking (thank you for taking me seriously, <3). good to know that they actually do work even without sound – sometimes I just need silence.

Almost choked on my tea.

I’m glad I could provide a moment of amusement. <3

Amy, if sympathetic loathing were a sport, we’d be Olympic champions.

At least you do it with humor. If you would like some yummy recipe ideas, just lemme know. Did the same thing last April to check for allergies.

how else can you do something like eliminate the amazingness that is bread and not want to throw your digestive system off a ten-story building?

recipes would be lovely, actually. though it’s not so much that we can’t do it – Jake’s great with eggs, cheese, and large pieces of meat (winkity wink) – but more that it SUCKS.

A change in the Bond

amekay3:

So I watched Skyfall this week and I have to say, I think we are about to have a “Christian Bale” re-envisioning of our James Bond. This most recent installment is the most serious we’ve seen 007 (in my opinion). Where as the Sean Connery (well, also roger’s and timothy’s) Bond was full of the cheesy one liners and appeared far more cavalier in his personality. Then again that could be a result of coming from the 60s-80s and we have plenty of serious subject matter these days from which to pull ideas, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a new direction from the franchise, much like Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. I’m very interested in seeing this new Bond and find out more about what makes him tick.

And now that my nerd is fully showing, I’ll end.

it was really bizarre going from Craig’s Bond (my only experience at first) to Brosnan’s Bond because of how un-seriously Broz took himself. I think you’re right, I think with Craig playing roles like Mikael Blomkvist in Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, he’s really cut out for the more serious side.  even if he ends up moving on after Skyfall, they’ve now set the precedent for the angsty, dark films. it’s an interesting shift in the franchise as far as I can see… not sure if I like it, because I think the world is sorely missing more cheesy awesome films.
