I recently got my 64 year old mother positively ADDICTED to GoT. We’re almost done with the first season (Baelor is up next, yikes) and she’s so cute because she keeps a cheat sheet of who everybody is, and marks them off when they die. She’s never read the books, and refuses to read any spoilers.
So, we came to a scene with John Snow, and she goes “That’s the king’s bastard, right” I said that no, Jon is Eddard’s son.
She goes “No, Eddard is too honorable to cheat on his wife. That’s the kings son with Eddard’s sister before she died. Eddard must have claimed the baby was his so the Lannisters wouldn’t kill him when Robert married Cerci.”
My mind is blown. I’m caught up on the books and this possibility never even occurred to me. Jon Snow has the black hair. There are only rumors about who his mother was. Mind. Blown.
Jon Snow is the rightful heir to the iron throne.
