- freemarketers – smugglers
- moon-harshed – the opposite of sun-dappled
- yarny – tight and explosive at the same time
- lor-left – spacetalk for “lower left”
- dawnlight – duh
- underbits – duh
- washbox – an efficient cross between a kitchen and a dishwasher
- deebee – slang for direct-to-brain entertainment
- chunnel (not the Chunnel) – slatted tubes for missiles
- bommer – originally “bomber”; essentially, “motherfucker”
