I downloaded some free Kindle books, and one of them had this stat on how much money the average American spends towards debts, and I was like…..huh. so ran the numbers, had a revelation, made a plan, explained it to Jake, and we feel in control of finances. is good.
I handed Jake a bowl of the butter chicken + turmeric rice I’d just made and watched with apprehension as he tasted it. then he reached over for a fist bump and said “this is delicious. well done. you have earned your knife” and rarely. rarely have I been so full of satisfaction

But for real. Every year my mom’s family does something called sibling weekend where her and all nine of her brothers and sisters get a cabin and drink and play card games and hang out.
I think the Joni’s should do that. Once a year.
I’m in, but I have a suggestion: every year we go somewhere new where none of us live. It’s fair to everyone and it allows us to travel and discover new places, together.
