please enjoy this beautiful rendering of pilots’ wings done by Jake while I tell you the good news: I’ve found an editor!

her name’s Cindy Davis, and she’s done a lot LOT of books in compatible genres to mine – erotica, romance, and sci-fi in particular. I went down the list and looked up a bunch on Amazon, and they all have four- and five-star reviews. (one never knows – they could be of the family and friend variety, but there were enough ratings to satisfy me.) in short – this is a partnership that excites me. I’ve had editors before, but never for my fiction, so…a little nervous, just a little. I hope she makes it so, so much better.

so! I am editing the NaNo draft by putting it on my Kindle (where I already read it through), ratcheting up the text size, and retyping it so I can edit as I go. I’m already making big character changes to the beginning, and finding lots of things that I’d world-built and then forgot to bother with later on. I’m sure tracking all those down will be a fun fun game…

the goal is to have a readable draft by April, which will go out to my editor AND my lovely readers, who have seriously been clamoring for it lately (hush, dears, you’ll get it in no more than three months!!). at that point I will simply sit back and wait with shaking hands for feedback.

again – aren’t those wings gorgeous? ahh. each family has their own ceremonial weapons, which are used as the central piece of a pilot’s wings. the wings themselves are also custom and chosen/designed/sometimes made by the pilots themselves.
