Depending on where you live, fall is a good period for fashion as the climate gets to a point where practicality can slide for appearance. Just my theory on why fall = fashion.

fair point, fair point. and it’s before winter, when practicality often has to win out again. I’m lucky to live in the Pac NW…such mild falls. my favorite season, mmmmm.
