Next PostNext It’s not that you can’t be proud of it — you absolutely can. You did bust ass and do good work to get that job. It’s about sympathy/empathy. Knowing that my neighbors in a bottom-10th percentile school are much, much less likely to achieve that success (and hopefully you’ll want that disadvantage lessened?). As for your gender not being as big a problem: I think part of that comes from location, maybe? I imagine more liberal states = better places for ladies to work? (Just a guess…)
