I do wish this quote was a little shorter, because it is fairly tattoo-worthy.

there have been many stages in my journey where I falter, because what I thought I knew has been deconstructed and replaced with an overwhelmingly new set of directions, philosophies, and truths (with a lowercase T, of course). I wish I’d had this quote for all of them, because it combines both what I have held on to from my past and what I have learned in the big wide world into something simple that rings true and shines through even the scariest unknown.

I may not know just how to let people into my world; I may grapple with the empty moments; I may question the “good” and “right” of my being and my doing. but I sure can learn, and I sure can empathize, and somehow it all seems to come back to that: we’re here to learn and love. sure, sometimes we’ll live beyond ourselves, through an invention or a child or an enduring philosophy, but… in the end, we all leave with our knowledge and lessons, and we all leave behind the people whose lives we’ve touched.

here’s to tomorrow.
