as the white crow flies: technology
the best thing
(and the worst thing)
about technologyis it will never satisfy you.
before you hold
the ever-slimmer, ever-sleeker
device in both hands
you think: with this,
it will all become clearwith this
it will all be so simpleand a defining thing happens
in the moment
when…This reminds me so much of a Douglas Adams writing, about how every new technology has that feeling attached to it, and that once we’ve had a taste for even the tiniest convenience, we think the next thing and the next will make it better.
it’s true. but I think that’s why it’s both the best and worst thing about technology. humans wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for technology (in the most basic sense of the word), so I think it’s awesome that it just keeps going thanks to that hollow feeling inventor-types get when they finally get what they think they wanted and it disappoints them…
