me on tumblr: likes things my friends like not because I like them but because I like that my friends like them.

you guys I am kind of back on social media but don’t count on catching me here… I’m limiting myself to desktop only for pretty much all sites and I’m not sure how much I’m actually going to do even that… leaving was so good for my mental health. not passively and obsessively tracking people I dislike was really good. so was writing 10000+ words instead of looking at Tumblr. SIGH, I miss my mutuals, but message me for a phone number and we can always text 😉

Yahoo did write Tumblr off as a loss which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna shut down but I’ll Tell You What, don’t be surprised if the ads get much, much worse

this will come in handy once they fix this hopefully you’ll be able to easily recover your previous theme without any issues once this.. blows over

also you shouldn’t try to fix your theme yourself right now, trying to edit it back probably won’t work and you might save over your old theme so if/when they do fix it, yours might not return to normal. its just a hunch tho, i’m not sure either way

what i would recommend to everyone right now is to go to google and search your blog. from there, IF you haven’t told tumblr not to let google track your blog, you can click on the arrow to the right of the url and access a cached copy of your blog. view the source of that page, copy everything, and save it as an html file somewhere on your machine. you cannot drop this code directly back into the theme editor, but it will let you keep your css.

bet somebody at yahoo is having a real bad day right now 👍

this also works with Bing, A+ methods

hooooooooooooo boy tumblr looks like we’re gonna take all our real shit off you soon

people have reblogged that stupid chat 17k times

when will it end

Stuff kids on tumblr better relearn

1. You are responsible for your own media experience.

2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you – but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.

3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.

4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves – you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine – but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.

5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.

Amen

Sometimes friendship is just telling your friends about things you saw on tumblr that you probably reblogged from each other.

feel free to unfollow if you:

  • don’t like me
  • liked me at one point, but don’t like me anymore
  • hate what i post
  • hate what i have to say about xyz topic
  • find me annoying
  • don’t have anything in common with me anymore, and are bored by the things i post
  • feel obligated by whatever personal reason you may have to keep following me, even if literally any of those above things apply

this applies to mutuals as well. your dash should be your happy place, so no hard feelings and i wish you the best in life

I’m adding here that I don’t actually check my followers list ever – I only ever check the number if I’ve had a rash of new follows – so if you’ve got any anxiety about offending me, don’t worry, because I literally won’t see. Your dash is your safe and happy spot, and if my content doesn’t jive with what you want to see…that’s fine with me.
