here as a follow-up

look, the point is not OMG STOP IT

the point is, if feminists and other equality allies want the changes to be made, YES they need to stand up and shout and YES they need to point out the places where there are issues

but they also have to conduct themselves in such a manner as to present their message through behavior, and not just words.

there’s a reason “feminist” is a bad word. it’s because so much hatred spills out into the behavior of people who call themselves feminists that there is no reason for anyone out there to listen to what is being said. which is sad, because they have an incredibly valid message that needs to be spread around the world…but not through some sort of affirmative action of anger and mean-spiritedness.

I am SO much more likely to listen to a Mormon’s message than an angry anti-American ranter, even though I’m SO much more likely to agree with the latter more than the former…simply because they tend to present themselves in such a way as to live their life the way they preach.

that’s all I want.
