I need help
A close family member is heavily addicted to alcohol and benzodiazepines. (Some of you know the details but I’d rather you didn’t disclose.) Last night they seriously injured themselves and tried to injure another member of the family, and almost overdosed. The latter party is trying to put together an intervention and the rest of my family is in on this, but it’s also worth mentioning the latter party is also sixteen and seriously ill-equipped to deal with this. I can’t talk to this person any more, none of us can, and it’s like I’ve entirely lost them over the past couple of years.
Please, if any of you have had a successful experience with an intervention or helping an addicted loved one, please help me and my family.
I don’t know where to start with this, I don’t know what kind of services we can get, I don’t know how we can handle it.
They live in Wyoming. I’m in Minnesota.
