I tease but I don’t really mind the MS work-talk, and honestly you have
some great stories about the crew there. (And, really, getting 10 for

unless this is too passive-aggressive, I’m going to tag posts that are pro-my company with “corporation station.” that way I can differentiate between the stuff that’s about me and my work life from the stuff that could come off as dronespeak.

I had lunch with my mom today, and she asked how work was going, so I was like, “well. everyone’s real intense right now since we have [big upcoming product] deadlines.”

and her eyes lit up and she was like, “oh yes! that’s going to be downloaded over the internet and just…appear for me, right?”

(so proud)

and I nodded and described the upgrade process and she goes

“so how much will that cost?”

…leaning forward, ready to pay whatever price, ready for it to suck…

and so it was with an immense amount of pride that I got to be the one to inform my mother that:

“it’ll be free. if you get it this year, you have it from now on.”

I am not wholesale on board with everything this company does do not get me wrong and yes there are ways they’re going to make money

but fuck. that was cool.
