ADULTHOOD! oh man it’s nuts, they are just such hard-working and responsible adult types and I have no idea why they think I’ll fit right in but HEY WHO AM I TO QUESTION

*SCREAMS OF HAPPINESS 4 YOU*

SCREECHING

ha ha wow those are the only three shows i even watch anymore. i am genuinely upset now.

besides cable and Netflix that’s where I’m at as far as television.

I’m not sure whether to feel like this is a glorious opportunity to shine or a terrifying smack in the face from reality that leaves a mirror-image print on my face saying “TV REALLY IS DEAD”

what is your new job, miss august!

I am tech support/technical documentater for the same real estate company I’m currently working for! it’s got better hours, a way better salary, and a casual dress code. also, a team. also, constant work. what more could I want?!

(okay maybe a smidge more creativity, but I figure I’ll save that for my side projects.)

writing letters is fun! when I was doing my internship in DC, I sent Emmy letters – even though I talked to her online every day.

I have a writerfriend in Rhode Island who occasionally writes me, but it’s been far too long. I love it; I just don’t have people to consistently correspond with.

also, that’s just one more thing to add to the list of “Kat and Em being so puke-worthy cute I want to hurl all over their bird for the irony”

anoteinpink said: thanks, August. <3 you captured a lot of our (mine and Nick’s and Em’s, specifically) frustrations with this whole “choice” argument. It shouldn’t MATTER whether or not being gay is a choice.

EXACTLY. I was talking with my (thankfully liberal) coworker today about that awful Rick Perry ad, and it really struck me how so many conservatives I know, including my mother, treat homosexuality as if it’s a religion – probably involving sacrifices of glittery shoes to Freddie Mercury, for all they can get past stereotypes. and then I was like, wait, woah, now you’re really discriminating and that’s just not okay.

I certainly don’t agree if people want to say homosexuality is wrong, but that’s their choice of belief. however, it is NOT grounds to make any sort of legal precedent. fuck that noise.
