When I was 14, I had an idea I thought was brilliant (at the time): what if the Egyptian gods were inspired by animal-headed aliens?! (Little did I know that Stargate was a thing.)
Fast forward through the next 14+ years, and I couldn’t leave that idea in the past. I love ancient mythology and mystery. I love alternate history, when it’s steeped in aliens, magic, or both. And, well, I love animal fiction. I kept a page (or twenty) in my master OneNote with a variety of ideas about this book… and then trilogy… and then trilogy of trilogies. Characters evolved, concepts blossomed, devices flourished.
Over the years, I’ve woven a lot of other story ideas I’ve had into the Grace of Gods series, which has resulted in an ambitious multi-eon arc of alternate human history, with books ranging from science romantasy to political intrigue to supernatural medical thriller to urban fantasy.
I’ve planned three distinct trilogies, each starring a different core cast: “Gods of Atlantis,” which follows a trio of alien were-creature leaders from their youth to their most heroic sacrifices; “Gods of Nightfall,” about twin sisters who become vampiric beings and take very different paths to power; and “Gods of Eternity,” the series that explores what happens when the monstrous predators pursuing the miiquils (the “Gods of Atlantis”) finally arrive on Earth.
Gods of Atlantis
Headstrong Charra, steadfast Minnor, and big-hearted Belario find themselves entangled in a three-way romance — and a persistent threat to the very existence of their people, the miiquils — throughout the ancient Mediterranean region. The trio struggles with destiny, leadership, parenthood, and existential crises, while leaning on one another for love and support through it all.
Gods of Atlantis: Boiling Point — What does it take to live — and die — with no regrets? Charra and the two miiquils who will sweep her off her feet must confront the mystery that threatens their entire island home. This is a shifter romance that’s not like all the other shifter romances.
Gods of Atlantis: Infernal Tides — Will Belario find the strength to risk his happiness — and even his life — to save everything that matters to him? Picking up several decades after Boiling Point, this romantic shifter thriller finds Belario and his two loves at court in the Old Kingdom in a world inspired by ancient Egypt.
