{"id":41682,"date":"2013-11-11T00:55:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-11T00:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.augustwritesabook.com\/tumblr-backup\/2013\/11\/11\/nanowrimo-update-week-one-stephen-king\/"},"modified":"2017-07-02T02:21:01","modified_gmt":"2017-07-02T02:21:01","slug":"nanowrimo-update-week-one-stephen-king","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.augustwritesabook.com\/tumblr-backup\/2013\/11\/11\/nanowrimo-update-week-one-stephen-king\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-41682 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='http:\/\/www.augustwritesabook.com\/tumblr-backup\/2013\/11\/11\/nanowrimo-update-week-one-stephen-king\/attachment\/41683\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augustwritesabook.com\/tumblr-backup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/tumblr_mw2ql3VAzF1rsbe2bo1_1280-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.augustwritesabook.com\/tumblr-backup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/tumblr_mw2ql3VAzF1rsbe2bo1_1280-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.augustwritesabook.com\/tumblr-backup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/tumblr_mw2ql3VAzF1rsbe2bo1_1280-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, 100vw\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p><strong>NaNoWriMo Update, Week One<\/strong><strong>: Stephen King, deadlines, and\u00a0livin&rsquo; the dream<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I suppose I should open with an apology: this is day ten of November, so this is a bit past the week mark that I promised for these updates. \u00a0It&rsquo;s possible I&rsquo;ll only get to three this month, and for\u00a0<em>that<\/em>, I apologize in advance, just in case. \u00a0But all the better that I was spending my time catching up to my word count &ndash; right?<\/p>\n<p>While not writing, I&rsquo;ve been nose-down in Stephen King&#8217;s\u00a0<em>The Stand<\/em>. \u00a0Maybe &ldquo;Game of Thrones&rdquo; finally got me over my &ldquo;ew&rdquo; factor, but despite the increasingly wince-worthy situations he puts human beings in, I cannot put the book down. \u00a0Since it&rsquo;s been dark starting at 5 now, I&rsquo;ve almost missed a bus stop a couple of times because I was so intently reading&hellip; \u00a0Oops. \u00a0I chose that book to read in November because Jake and I agreed that King&rsquo;s voice is less likely than many others&rsquo; to slip into my style while I&rsquo;m trying to do ye marathon of words.<\/p>\n<p>Work has been\u00a0<em>crazy<\/em> busy. \u00a0Friday was a deadline of sorts, and the rest of 2013 is peppered with them, so I&rsquo;ve been shocked by how much I&rsquo;ve still managed to write for NaNo.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of, can I just say, this is living the dream?!
