But, let\u2019s face it, I\u2019d get half way through and forget about it. As usual. Besides, I\u2019ve only seen the New Who, and- though I do love it so- I feel that it may get repetitive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I was browsing other responses, and got to thinking about my favorite Doctor. After several hours of contemplation (I\u2019ve got a rather boring job) I\u2019ve come to the conclusion that the Doctor is my favorite Doctor. No, this isn\u2019t some cheap cop-out. I really truly cannot pick one over the others. Why?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with <strong>Nine<\/strong>: He was my first Doctor, so of course I have a special place in my heart for him. But it\u2019s more than that. Chris Eccleston played him beautifully. I\u2019ll admit that I found him mildly abrasive at first. His constant mood swings- he was almost manic at times- and that goofy grin.<\/p>\n<p>Then I saw Dalek. I realized that the quirkiness wasn\u2019t just a side-effect of the Britishness of the show. It was the crumbling facade of a man trying to hold himself together- for her sake- despite the incredible burdens he had to bear. He realized that he was often the only thing standing between those \u2018stupid apes\u2019 and certain destruction. Nine <em>was<\/em> the oncoming storm. (None of the others really ever lived up to that title for me) He is the one I\u2019d want to have my back at the end of the world. He is solid, reliable, and just a little bit frightening. For that, he is my Doctor.<\/p>\n<p>But then there\u2019s <strong>Ten<\/strong>: Again, I kind of hated him at first. He was gangly and awkward, and never shut up. I had just fallen in love with Nine, and suddenly he\u2019s gone, and they\u2019re trying to convince me that an ostrich with great hair is a little bit foxy? No.<\/p>\n<p>But, like before, something happened. I think it was sometime during \u2018The Impossible Planet\/The Satan Pit.\u2019 His chemistry with Billie Piper was so\u2026 tangible. On top of that, he had such a love for life. Everything was \u2018beautiful.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>I think the \u2018Human Nature\/Family of Blood\u2019 episodes were what sold me on Ten. It was here that we really began to glimpse the darkness that lies behind his charm. The silliness is all well and good, but- up until now- I didn\u2019t really see him as a force to be reckoned with. The Fury of a Time Lord showed us his power which, to me, is one of the sexiest things about him.<\/p>\n<p>Fast-forward to the \u2018The Waters of Mars\u2019 (since I don\u2019t really want to write a novel about Ten on here). This is probably my favorite Doctor moment of all time. His \u2018Laws of time should obey <em>me<\/em>\/Time Lord Victorious\u2019 speeches completely changed the way I view the Doctor. Before, I saw him as this kind of kooky, yet formidable, figure. The physical embodiment of Chaotic Good. But Ten\u2019s transformation in \u2018Waters of Mars\u2019 made me wonder if the Doctor wasn\u2019t a little bit evil. History is written by the victors, you know, and since the Doctor almost always wins\u2026 What could we be missing? Ten challenged me, and for that he is my Doctor.<\/p>\n<p>Now we have <strong>Eleven<\/strong>: Surprise, surprise, I was prepared to hate him. How could this<em> child<\/em> ever live up to the greatness of his predecessors? Yet, somehow, he did. And, I might add, he won me over much faster than the other two ever did. He is still kind of awkward, but charming, and still has some pretty great hair.<\/p>\n<p>His greatest asset, though, I think is his voice. Eleven is so much more soft-spoken than Nine and (especially) Ten. He is thoughtful. He speaks quietly, with just a hint of mischief. I like that.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven was once described as a lonely little boy, which I find almost painfully accurate. I see him as something of a Peter-Pan type\u2026 A little boy, older than you can imagine, who is a little wild and loves a fight. (How many women have you abducted? Millions.) It\u2019s as if he is trying to full his life with companions and adventure so that he doesn\u2019t have to think about the baggage from the past. (Notice there are NO ties between the world of Eleven and that of Nine and Ten).<\/p>\n<p>I think that this sort of innocence he has now, coupled with his potential, makes him almost more dangerous than the others were. He is unpredictable and subject to whim.
