I was going back and forth on whether to even ask her, but\u00a0 my mom noted that if she didn\u2019t want to lend it to me, she\u2019d say so. Then, this cleverness:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, you should just ahead of time settle on a price that, if anything were to happen to the dress, she\u2019d be satisfied with and able to buy herself something equally wonderful, and that way she doesn\u2019t have to worry and you don\u2019t have to worry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is so smart because the dollar value of the dress isn\u2019t high, but it is one of her favorites.
