well, my lovelies, it\u2019s happened. on Saturday (December 29), I finished the first draft of A God Grown Old<\/em>. I immediately saved it as a PDF and converted it for my Kindle, then left it alone.<\/p>\n

because this phase is about resting.<\/p>\n

this phase is about falling asleep on an idea. about softly sighing into the dark about the inconsistencies and listening for the answers in your imagination. about making peace with your flaws and your novel\u2019s flaws. \u00a0this phase is for finding the joyous spark of research and brainstorming again, for seeking out those first readers, for facing the reality of what comes next.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how I\u2019ll do, chopping up my baby. she\u2019s short already (just over 65k words) and in my heart, she\u2019s complete. but she\u2019s not. \u00a0A God Grown Old<\/em> has much growing to do before it has aged into something I can proudly show the world.<\/p>\n

for now, I rest.<\/p>\n

(and by rest I mean start brainstorming and researching the next novel! which is as of yet untitled but will appeal to fans of science fiction, smut, and philosophy.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

it started out as this random post-apocalyptic smut that I was writing for Jake on the regular, just to get him through the day, and he was liking it so much as a progressive story I thought, hell, I\u2019ll see what happens if I expand this. I started using this process from the book \u201cThe 90-Day Novel,\u201d which gives you almost an entire month of nothing but brainstorming and structuring, and after just TWO DAYS the idea has blossomed. I would eat this book up if someone else was writing it.<\/p>\n

okay okay enough about my ideas, you\u2019re here for\u2026oh, well, probably my ideas. XD<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cannot wait for this one! (And I plan on doing both a novella and a children\u2019s book this year, if you\u2019re interested in pre-reading for someone else! I\u2019ve had the idea for this kids\u2019 book, especially, for a while now.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
