When I have sex with a different partner every night I\u2019m a nymphomaniac.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Because people think that\u00a0<\/span>monogamy<span>\u00a0= validity, always.<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Because\u00a0<\/span>monogamous<span>\u00a0hetronormativity is so ingrained that I don\u2019t even feel like I can dance with someone without telling them the complete logistics of my love life.<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Because people\u00a0<\/span>genuinely<span>\u00a0believe that raising a child communally is damaging to development.<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Because when I say \u2018I could never be\u00a0<\/span>monogamous<span>\u2019 I get dirty looks.<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<li><span>Because too many people have tried to confide in me when they\u2019re cheating because \u2018I thought you, of all people, would understand.\u2019<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Because I can\u2019t talk about my relationship troubles with my\u00a0<\/span>monogamous<span>\u00a0friends\u00a0because \u2018I always have something to fall back on.\u2019 As if my relationships are meaningless.<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>(please reblog and add more if you like)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Let\u2019s keep adding guys!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Because I frequently have people telling me to \u201csave some for the rest of us\u201d when I say someone is attractive.<\/p>\n<p>Because I\u2019m sick of people acting like polyamory and polygamy are the same exact thing. Hint: it\u2019s fucking not.<\/p>\n<p>Because I want to be able to openly talk about my multiple partners without people immediately assuming I\u2019m monogamous and cheating on my partner.<\/p>\n<p>Because I\u2019m fucking sick of people assuming my relationship is falling apart because I have sex with one partner more than another.<\/p>\n<p>Because I can\u2019t fucking stand people thinking I don\u2019t love my partners equally and assuming I have to love one more than the other(s).<\/p>\n<p>Because my single friends complain when I mention I have a crush on someone new.<\/p>\n<p>Because I\u2019m comfortable with talking to all of my partners about each other and don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m cheating, because I\u2019m not.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m seriously sick of the stigma behind being poly. There is a difference between cheating and being polyamorous. I talk to my partner(s) before I get involved in any way with another person or other people. If even one of them isn\u2019t comfortable with it I back the fuck up and I let my partners know of the situation and remind them that I love them and care about them and respect their opinions.
